I hate working out, I hate it! It's not fun, I'm never motivated to do it and it just plain sucks. Well I came across this couch to 5K thing earlier today and thought it was probably something that Jim and I could do together. I brought it up to him when I got home from work and he liked the idea too. Now, I don't necessarily want to run marathons, but running is the easiest exercise to do. Not easy like I can go out and run 10 miles no problem easy, but easy like all it requires is shoes and someplace to run. So I'm very proud to say that I made it through my first 20-minute session. I know it doesn't sound like much, but when you've never run before, oh sweet lord...20 minutes was plenty of time. Oh you think I ran the entire 20 minutes?? HA! No way! Below is what the first week looks like. Unfortunately we started it today which kind of sucks, but oh well. We hope to get the next session in on Saturday.
Week 1 - Workout 1
Week 1 - Workout 2
Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.

This is pretty much how I felt afterwards though...
And my yoga fitness class starts next week too and I really liked that class the last time I took it, so I'm looking forward to that. I mentioned to Jim that we could take Tai-Chi together, so that might be an option too.

Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog--hope you enjoyed your visit!
And good luck with your C25K!!
So glad that you commmented! I'll be your new reader. :)
Definitely go for C25K! Even if all that results is one 5K under your belt, it is a great experience and you get to say for a period of time that you're a runner! Plus runnings really cheap. :)
YAY for starting the c25k program! if you ever need a running buddy me and frutiepye are going to start running together (c25k i think) currently we're doing it around 26mile/mound but we could find somewhere more central if you're interseted! (court&john)
