Thank you Netflix

Jim and I aren't big movie watchers. We don't even own a DVD player. If we ever want to watch a DVD, which is usually a comedy from the 90's, we pop it into the PS2.

Well I've been reading the Sookie Stackhouse books, which is what True Blood is based off of, so of course now I want to actually see the show. We don't have HBO either so that was a no go. I looked into how much the first season costs on DVD and it was like $40. No thanks.

Soooooooo, I realized it would be much cheaper for me to sign up for Netflix than to buy the season DVDs. And then since we have the Wii, we can instantly get shows/movies through that. Although I've heard that selection isn't that great. I haven't really checked it out yet.

Whatever, I was just super excited to watch the first two True Blood episodes last night!! And who knows, maybe we'll actually start watching some movies.

I LOVE True Blood. I have been reading the novels as well, but haven't gotten very far into the third one.

Netflix really is great. No the selection isn't the greatest all the time, and you have to wait a bit to get the new releases, but my hubby and I love it. We have almost watched all four seasons of Heros.

Plus, my husband had this horrible habit of buying DVDs and TV Series, so this $10 a month or whatever, is way better than what he was spending!

We are the same way, not big movie watchers, and we don't have a dvd player, though we use the xbox 360, rather than a PS2.

But, we do have Netflix, and we've had it for a long time, using it to watch tv shows instantly via the xbox or the wii. I think the instant selection is pretty good, especially for tv shows. And things come on and off the instant list pretty frequently.

Though I don't think True Blood is really my thing :)
