I feel so old today

Like my previous post mentions, my ankle still hurts...oh and did I mention I have to bowl tonight? Joy! That should feel good. But maybe the Motrin 800 I'm taking to ease the ridiculous womanly cramps I have will numb any pain in my ankle as well...lol. And my shoulders are killing my from my yoga session on Tuesday...being in that damn downward dog position forever was the culprit!

Of course mine doesn't look as pretty since I can't put my feet flat on the ground, but it doesn't matter...it still hurts.

Here's a cool thing I saw in our parking lot this morning though - it's one of those leaf bugs. It's kind of a crappy picture since it was with my phone, but you get the idea.

C25K - Week 2 Day 2

Ugh...yesterday was really hard for me for some reason. When is it supposed to get easier?? Running for 90 seconds seems like an eternity! And my ankle hurts like a mother, so that doesn't help. I don't know what the deal is. Friday during a running interval, all of a sudden it started to hurt. I finished the workout and it wasn't swollen or anything and only hurt when I walked on it. By Sunday there was no pain at all. So Monday rolls around, we start running and it hurts again. I went out yesterday and bought an ankle brace to wear which seemed to help a little, but it hurts again today. It doesn't hurt when I'm just sitting in a chair, it's only when I walk on it. So I'm wondering if a bone is out of whack or if it's a tendon thing or what. My chiropractor says shes adjusts ankles, so I may have to check that out. We shall see.

I've never been able to go to an autograph signing or anything so I was pretty excited. Below are a few pics. It was so awesome!

Mmmmmm, delicious sparkling drink

I've seen these in the store, paused to read the label, picked it up, thought about purchasing it...put it back on the shelf and walk away. I needed something to drink with my italian sub at lunch today and once again, came across these in the cooler.

The dialogue in my head:
Just buy it, what can be so bad? It's juice and sparkling water. Okay, but does it have that gross "diet taste". You know...the crap that make Propel taste awful? I don't know, how about you read the label? Okay, it doesn't it say it, but you never know. Just buy the damn thing! Fine!

I know...so ridiculous over a drink. So I bought it and it was yummy. Grab yourself an Izze today. I had the grapefruit.

so sore

So like I mentioned in my last post, I started the C25K program. Well I'm feelin' it today that's for sure! I can't believe how sore my legs are! I've run on the treadmill before and never felt anything like this. Must be a combination of not having actual running shoes, being a lazy ass all summer, and never running outside before.

I'm guessing I should probably get some actual running shoes. I'm not sure what I actually need since I'm just a beginner to this running thing, but I imagine the right shoe is the trick. Any suggestions from anyone out there?

C25K - Week 1 Day 1

I hate working out, I hate it! It's not fun, I'm never motivated to do it and it just plain sucks. Well I came across this couch to 5K thing earlier today and thought it was probably something that Jim and I could do together. I brought it up to him when I got home from work and he liked the idea too. Now, I don't necessarily want to run marathons, but running is the easiest exercise to do. Not easy like I can go out and run 10 miles no problem easy, but easy like all it requires is shoes and someplace to run. So I'm very proud to say that I made it through my first 20-minute session. I know it doesn't sound like much, but when you've never run before, oh sweet lord...20 minutes was plenty of time. Oh you think I ran the entire 20 minutes?? HA! No way! Below is what the first week looks like. Unfortunately we started it today which kind of sucks, but oh well. We hope to get the next session in on Saturday.

Week 1 - Workout 1
Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.

Week 1 - Workout 2
Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.

Week 1 - Workout 3
Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.

This is pretty much how I felt afterwards though...

And my yoga fitness class starts next week too and I really liked that class the last time I took it, so I'm looking forward to that. I mentioned to Jim that we could take Tai-Chi together, so that might be an option too.
