Today's officially my birthday!

Well today is my birthday and I'm 28 years old...not sure whether to be excited about that or if it's time to start getting depressed about my age...lol. Actually, this past Saturday was my 10-year high school reunion. I didn't attend the reunion during the day, but later that evening some people were hanging out at the bar...I think we look pretty good for 28 :o)

I was a little apprehensive about the whole thing at first, but it ended up being a really good time. I got to chat it up with a few people that I was pretty good friends with back in high school.

Friday night we went up to Mt. Clemens to hang out at the Stars and Stripes Festival. I got to people watch, listen to some music, eat a corn dog and an elephant ear, and watch some fireworks.

I even bought some flashy bunny ears...very fun. Here' me an my bro posing. There's no flash, but then you wouldn't be able to get the full effect of the flashy bunny ears...lol.

Well I have today off of work and it's been nice just chillin' at home. I think it's time to get productive.

Happy Early Birthday To Me!

So my birthday isn't until next Monday, but we went and got my present last night. I wanted a Nintendo DS and that's what I got. I wanted the pink one, but I know Jim will want to play it eventually and I think red looks a little more manly than pink does...lol. I also got the new Guitar Hero game and of course Super Mario Brothers...gotta love that Mario.

i ♥ brinner

Brinner you say? What on earth is that? According to Urban Dictionary,

2. Brinner: A combination of breakfast and dinner, much like 'brunch' (breakfast and lunch).

So tonight I made blueberry waffles and we had some delicious bacon that my parents brought us back from a local place up north near our cabin. Mmmmm, mmmmm, good.

Then we watched So You Think You Can Dance, and that was about it. We're such homebodies, but that's fine with me...it's a lot cheaper that way too...lol.

Tomorrow I work sort of an odd shift, 11am - 8pm, but that's because we have some equipment running and I volunteered to stay a little late to keep it running a little longer.

So it's been awhile...

...since I've posted anything. Good thing I've been keeping up on the food blog though...well sorta.

So anyway, last weekend was kind of busy. We attended the Ortleib/Martin wedding on Friday and it was quite the fun affair. It was at the Detroit Yacht Club, which I've never been to, and everything was so elegant.

Below is the head table setup and the swing band they had. The head table was in the center of the room, which was really nice, and the band was awesome!

...me and Jim

...and of course, the happy couple

We stayed the night at the Omni Riverfront hotel in Detroit, and it was pretty nice. The bed was awesome! The pillows were huge and fluffy and the comforter was, well, comfy. Jim didn't like the fact that the comforter weighed like 50 lbs, but I did.

Saturday we left the hotel around noon and went to Hockeytown Cafe for lunch. Then we walked down to Hart plaza and along the riverfront a little. I didn't exactly have my walking shoes on...can we say ouch? Then after wasting some time it was finally time to go back to Comerica Park for the Tigers game.

The usher at Comerica Park was nice enough to take a few pictures of us, telling us where to stand to make sure he had the perfect shot, but of course Jim's eyes were closed. Oh well.

Then Sunday was Father's Day so we headed to my parents house for some grub and to hang out. All in all, it was a pretty eventful weekend.

We got the cup baby!!

So Stanley's back home, back in Hockeytown where it belongs. We were out at a bar watching the game with a bunch of other crazy Wings fans and it was a blast! I would have liked to go to the parade today, but 1) Jim couldn't get the day off of work and 2) it's pretty effin hot out there and I don't think I would have been able to handle it. I'm not a big fan of heat...especially when it's so humid too.

Please no OT tonight...

...I don't think I can stay up and watch another 3 overtimes again. But the Wings have to do it tonight...a game 7 is just too nerve-wracking. Now we need to figure out where we're going to watch the game tonight. Back to Joe Vision, or somewhere else? Who knows.

GO WINGS!!

GO WINGS GO!!

So Jim and I decided to head to Joe Vision last night. That's where we pay $5 to go to Joe Louis Arena and watch the hockey game on the screen at center ice, with a bunch of other crazy Wings fans. Man that place was crazy! I swear it was louder in there last night that it is during a game. Although I wouldn't really know since I've never been to a Stanley Cup playoff game. I guess I can't really justify spending at least $100 on one ticket...and those are the crappy seats.

The Wings will win the cup on Monday!! GO WINGS!!
